About the Registry

The Burger Registry is an independent record of great burgers.

We started in DC because that is where Burger Club DC started: a group of people willing to cross town for a better patty, a better bun, and a better lunch.

We do not score hype.We do not score nostalgia. We score the burger in front of us.

How It Works

Every entry gets a field report, a 100-point score across seven categories, and a verdict printed directly under the number. The Board ranks every burger we have entered, from the ones worth planning a day around to the ones we recorded and moved on from.

A score is one visit’s worth of evidence. If a burger changes, we go back and update the entry, and the report says so. We are not fully objective. Nobody eating a burger is. What we can be is consistent: same categories, same scale, same questions every time. Scores go to one decimal, because arguing over tenths is half the fun.

What Gets Entered

Burgers. Smashburgers, diner burgers, bar burgers, classic cheeseburgers, and specialty burgers that are still clearly burgers. No chicken sandwiches on the Board. If something outside the lines is too good to ignore, it gets its own special report.

Right now that means the DMV: DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The Registry is built to travel.

About Burger Club DC

Burger Club DC is the group behind The Burger Registry. We eat burgers, argue about them, and keep the receipts.
